⚠️ AI-Drafted Starting Point — Business Owner Should Confirm

Refund Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Important notice: This is an AI-drafted starting-point refund policy. The specific terms below (14-day window, pro-rata calculation approach, etc.) represent a reasonable default for a SaaS product — but the business owner must confirm these terms before they become binding. This is not a final commercial decision and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before real payments go live, review this with a legal professional.

We want you to be satisfied with fanTask. This policy explains when you can request a refund and how it works. Our goal is to be straightforward and fair — not to hide behind fine print.

1. Free Plan

The Free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund. Your free account can be closed at any time.

2. Monthly Subscriptions

Monthly subscriptions are billed at the start of each billing period. Because monthly billing periods are short and you can cancel at any time (taking effect at the end of the current period), we generally do not issue refunds for partial monthly billing periods.

Exception: if you were charged due to a billing error on our side (e.g. a system bug charged you when you had already cancelled), we will refund the erroneous charge promptly.

3. Annual Subscriptions — 14-Day Upgrade Refund Window

Annual plans are billed upfront for the full year, which represents a significant commitment. We therefore offer the following:

14-day refund window after an annual upgrade

If you upgrade from Free to an annual Pro plan and genuinely haven't made meaningful use of the Pro features within the first 14 days, you can request a full refund of your annual payment. We'll cancel your Pro subscription and revert your account to the Free plan.

"Genuine non-use" means you haven't added substantial task data, connected MCP agents, or otherwise meaningfully used the plan's capabilities. We may ask a clarifying question but we won't interrogate you — if you say you didn't really use it, we'll take that at face value.

After the 14-day window, annual subscriptions are generally non-refundable for the remainder of the annual period. If you cancel mid-year, your Pro access continues until the end of the paid annual period, and the subscription is not renewed.

4. Cancellation by fanTask

If fanTask terminates your account without cause (e.g. we decide to shut down the service or discontinue a plan), you will receive a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of your prepaid subscription period, calculated on a daily basis.

If your account is terminated for a violation of our Terms of Service, you are generally not entitled to a refund.

5. EU Consumer Rights

EU consumer law (including the Consumer Rights Directive) provides certain rights that cannot be waived by contract, including the right to withdraw from a digital service contract within 14 days of purchase (right of withdrawal), unless you explicitly request immediate performance of the service and waive this right.

At account creation or checkout, we will ask for your explicit acknowledgement to waive the 14-day withdrawal right so that service can start immediately. If you do not agree to waive, the 14-day statutory withdrawal right applies and you can request a full refund within that window by emailing us before you use the service.

Note: The exact wording of the withdrawal waiver and how it interacts with our 14-day satisfaction window above needs to be confirmed by a lawyer before checkout goes live.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email us at hello@fantask.ro with the subject "Refund Request" and include:

  • The email address associated with your fanTask account.
  • The date of the charge you are requesting a refund for.
  • A brief reason (optional, but helpful).

We aim to respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed via the original payment method through Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

7. Questions

If you have any questions about this policy or a specific billing situation, please email hello@fantask.ro. We're a small team and we handle these conversations directly — no ticket queues.

For the business owner to confirm before launch: The specific refund terms above (14-day window, non-refundable monthly periods, pro-rata cancellation) are a reasonable starting point for a SaaS product but represent commercial decisions you need to make explicitly. In particular, how the 14-day satisfaction window interacts with EU statutory withdrawal rights must be confirmed with a lawyer who understands Romanian consumer law and the Consumer Rights Directive.
